Overview
This is a prevocational course in Electrotechnology training that is delivered to affiliated schools who currently have a Third Party Agreement with Electrogroup Training. This course is recommended as a ‘pre-apprenticeship’ pathway for a full Certificate III in Electrotechnology, trade qualification. Once you have completed this course you will have gained theory knowledge and practical experience in a hands-on training environment. With the completion of work experience you will also learn first-hand from qualified tradesperson working within in the industry. Do I need to have Prior Knowledge or Work Experience?
You will not need any prior knowledge or work experience relating to the electrical industry. A high level of maths and science skills is highly recommended.
Do I need to complete Work Experience to complete this qualification?
While Electro Group recommends work experience as part of the Certificate II in Electrotechnology, work experience is not mandatory and does not form part of Electro Group’s training or assessment strategies for VETiS students. Where individual schools choose to offer work experience as part of its broader curricular activities, the school is responsible for monitoring and management of the work experience.
How is the qualification delivered?
Electro Group delivers this qualification through third party arrangements with schools where EGT has verified competency of trainers, resources, and the school’s capacity to carry out such training/assessment to industry and training package standards/requirements. In instances where the schools do not have the capacity to provide training/assessment, training is provided by EGT trainers either at EGT premises or at a trade training centre. Attendance is generally 1 full day per week in agreement with the school and may require some school holiday attendance. Where third party arrangements are in place all students are provided with information at induction and it is made clear Electro Group are the RTO and the school is the third party.
What can I continue to study after this?
Having completed the Certificate II in Electrotechnology, participants may seek further advancement and proceed to the Certificate III in Electrotechnology (apprenticeship).

Learning Support Services:
All students enrolling into this qualification are required to undertake a Language Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
Appropriate methods of assessment, which meet the learning needs of the individual, including reasonable adjustment, will be made where necessary to ensure fairness and equity within the learning process.
Student Training and Employment Survey –Within 3 months of completing or discontinuing this course you will be required to complete a Training and Employment Survey. Students may also receive a survey from the Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business and Training (DYJESBT) seeking information on their training experience. The Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business and Training (DYJESBT) will conduct an independent survey every 12 months.

Prior to enrolment we are able to assess your skills via Credit Transfers If you have completed an accredited program through another training provider or you have relevant industry experience you may be eligible to receive a Credit Transfer. How do I enrol onto this course?
This is a school-based course, where training is provided to schools that have a current Third Party Agreement with Electrogroup Training. If you are a student that meets the pre-requisites to this course and have signed up to this course through an affiliated school, please see below online enrolment form to complete online and email back to Training [at] electrogroup.com.au. Please note that all students under 18 years of age require a parent or guardian signature on the enrolment form.
